| Overview: | Due to open in July 2010, The Rock will comprise in excess of 46,500 square metres of new retail accommodation including two department stores, eight flagship stores and 60 other shop units. The main retail street at The Rock extends the existing high street linking Market Place with the new main town square, which will become the focal point for the town centre. Severfield-Reeve Structures were responsible for the fabrication and erection of almost 8,000 tonnes of fabricated steelwork, of which over 6,000 tonnes is coated with fire protection paint. The structure also contains a quantity of Fabsec plated beams with bespoke service openings. Severfield completed their works on site whilst maintaining a good health and safety performance. |
