| Overview: | Measuring approximately 130m long and 14m wide, this pedestrian bridge will transform Stratford’s connectivity, providing the link between Stratford town centre and the Olympic Park and Westfield’s Stratford City development. The bridge extends across the 11 railway lines at Stratford Regional Station and is the first bridge to be constructed over live tracks, making the construction of the bridge one of the most challenging structural engineering projects in the UK. Watson Steel Structures was responsible for the fabrication of approximately 1,400 tonnes of structural steelwork used in the structure, and it was erection by Steelcraft, the Group’s in-house erection company. |
