Health and Safety at Severfield-RowenThe needs of our employees, our clients, our suppliers and subcontractors are linked in determining the commercial viability of the business.

The Severfield-Rowen Group is accredited to OHSAS 18001:2007 for health and safety, plus ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management.

The Directors of each operating Company, through the implementation of the Group Safety Health and Environmental philosophy, encourage each employee and subcontractor to strive constantly to achieve the best safety, health and environmental practices.

A principal aim of the Group Board of Directors is to ensure, through example and encouragement that each Operating Company (its directors, managers and employees) behaves ethically and responsibly, particularly in the fields of Safety and Health, and Environmental management.

Health & Safety:

  • Leadership
    People at all levels of the Severfield-Rowen Group have responsibilities for their own health and safety and should set an example for others.
    Our management are accountable for health and safety and will demonstrate leadership through personal example.
  • Hazard, risks and control measures
    We will identify the hazards and risks associated within our business activities and introduce appropriate control measures, challenging them in the changing environment, aiming for continuous improvement.

    We will promote and improve the health and well-being of all Severfield-Rowen Group employees.
  • Competence and behaviour
    We will ensure our employees are trained so they are skilled and qualified for their occupation and therefore can contribute an improved health and safety performance.
  • Incident analyses and prevention
    We will ensure work related accidents and near misses are reported, investigated and analysed to prevent reoccurrence.
    The investigations will focus on root cause and recommendations shared across the business.
  • Safety in design
    Our designers and our erection management will focus on the design aspect of the structure with the objective to erect the structure safer and more efficiently.
  • Monitoring, audit and review
    We will conduct regular internal audits to an audit program on our management systems in order to achieve our objectives and targets to drive the health and safety culture of our business forward.
